Although I am a full-time student, I continue to represent my union, the Association of School and College Leaders (ASCL) in Cambridgeshire. As local representative I attend meetings and review policy-making which affects the terms and conditions of work for my members.
With over thirty years of educational and leadership experience, I can assist on a consultancy basis in secondary schools with leadership, student, parental and governor groups. I have completed two successful acting headships in local schools and I have co-managed a course for ASCL Professional Development called “From Leadership to Consultancy.” This course gave advice and ideas on how school leaders could move from their roles in school or college to build their consultancy profile on retirement, or semi-retirement.
I am at my best in difficult situations, which need strong and positive leadership and my skills are particularly suited in organising day to day team work; promoting positive ethos and relationships with students, staff, parents and stakeholders. I have been a successful mentor to women, aspiring to headship.
Please do contact me should you have problems in school leadership that need practical and sensible solutions.
